The Anti-β-Gal isotype control family consists of monoclonal antibodies comprising the variable region of a mouse monoclonal antibody targeting E. coli β-galactosidase (β-Gal), and the constant region of several different native (IgG1, IgG2, IgG3, IgG4 and IgA2) or engineered (IgG1 (N298A), IgG1fut, and IgG4 (S228P)) human and murine isotypes.
These isotypes differ in their effector functions, such as complement-dependent cytotoxicity (CDC) and antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity (ADCC). They are produced in Chinese hamster ovarian (CHO) cells.
This family can be used as the negative control for antibodies of the same isotypes.
