Swabs

Swab is available dry or with various transport media: Stuart, Amies or Amies with charcoal.

Amies: For general purpose, suitable for taking samples from eye, nose, ear, throat, skin, reproductive system.

Amies with charcoal: The addition of charcoal to the Amies medium improves the survival of Neisseria gonorrhoeae and intestinal bacteria by neutralizing the toxic metabolites.
