The 100 bp Ladder is obtained from the digestion of a customised plasmid (pUC, phage, and sequences from yeast genome) by the corresponding restriction enzymes. These digestions generate fragments of the sizes 1000, 900, 800, 700, 600, 500 (x2), 400, 300, 200 and 100 bp, which can be visualised by staining with ethidium bromide. This marker can be used for DNA quantification.
